Why Early Access?

“We are a small indie team dedicated to bringing a first of its kind authentic JRPG experience to VR. We have spent 3 years working on Sword Reverie, and we are only able to reach this point with the help of gamers and weebs like you. Releasing in early access will allow us to grow our community, receive additional player feedback, and continue to develop Sword Reverie. By supporting Sword Reverie, you can help shape the future of JRPG games in VR.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We think it will take around 1 year to finish development and polishing up Sword Reverie. However, we want to ensure the quality of the game and will work on the game longer if needed. We aim to continue to support and update the game even after full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will focus on two areas, complete game content and polish.

We plan to have 8-10 hours of gameplay spread across 5 maps, each with unique corresponding boss encounters. We will also add more diverse weapons and skills, and complete our voice acted storyline with a satisfying conclusion.

If you purchase the Early Access version, you will have access to all additional content as soon as they become available.

We will also continue to fix bugs and improve performance, as well as improve the overall balance and polish of the game.

Furthermore, we hope to add support for multiplayer co-op.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“

• There are currently about 3 hours of polished gameplay.
  
• We have completed 12 levels, one boss fight, as well as the fully voiced story for those areas.
  
• We have a unique satisfying combat system with elemental abilities that have been well received and improved through months of playtests.
  
• There are additional abilities you can unlock and weapons you can craft to demolish your foes in new satisfying ways.
  
• There are still areas that may need adjustments to balance the difficulty and polish of the level design. There may still be some bugs and performance issues.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't have a firm answer right now but given the scope of our entire storyline and detailed polish of our fully released game, it is possible the price might increase at launch to reflect the expanded content and quality.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have been actively involving the community in the development process of Sword Reverie from the very beginning. We have continued to make changes on the game based on players feedback from trailers and playtests. We have already improved and iterated the combat, abilities, lighting, and much more. We are active on social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Discord, and more), and will active be on the Steam community hub, and we are always open to hearing your suggestions on any of our social media channels.
